Hetty Saunders

A Little Toller Books Event
Hetty Saunders has written the first biography of the enigmatic and acclaimed naturalist, JA Baker – author of the masterpiece The Peregrine and The Hill of Summer. After his death in 1987, he was largely forgotten until a new edition of The Peregrine published in the early part of this century, began the revival. A new archive, brought together by Mark Cocker and John Fanshawe made it possible for Hetty Saunders to put together her sensitive and widely praised biography of this great man and the enduring legacy of his two books.
LITTLE TOLLER BOOKS is a local independent publisher (www.littletoller.co.uk) specialising in the revival of nature writing of another era and commissioning new books on the subject. Bridlit is delighted that the LTB team have curated a series of talks in the newly restored Literary and Scientific Institute in Bridport.
